Shanghai Qingpu melodies festival wows crowds
A large number of music fans from across China attended the second Shanghai Qingpu Waterside Melodies festival over the weekend.
The two-day music festival, which took place at Shangda Central Park, featured a dazzling artist lineup including notable singers Zhang Liangying and Xiao Jingteng, pop idol Huang Minghao, as well as rapper stars such as Ma Siwei, Wang Yitai and Danko.
Complimentary rain ponchos, free parking, free shuttle buses and special markets were provided at the festival for participants enjoying the May Day holiday.
He Jiaqi, who was at a music festival for the first time, said: "I was hooked. The atmosphere was electric.
"Even though it was raining, the organizers handed out free rain ponchos, which is so thoughtful. Listening to music in the rain actually made it even more special."
The festival drew a large number of music fans from the neighboring provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui. One traveler said that, although they made the trip for the music festival, the experience was enhanced by exploring the ancient town, grabbing a coffee, and checking out the delicacies and shopping areas.
