A Chinese mainland spokesman on Friday warned "Taiwan independence" separatists, including Shen Pao-yang, that continued wrongdoing will only lead to their own destruction.

Chen Binhua, spokesman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said that "Taiwan independence" separatists have reached the end of the road.

He made the remarks in response to media queries about Shen's recent comments in Germany. Shen, also known as Puma Shen, is a diehard "Taiwan independence" separatist who has been listed by the Chinese mainland, and is currently under criminal investigation by mainland police for suspected acts of secession.

The 43-year-old from Taipei founded the "Kuma Academy", an organization promoting "Taiwan independence".

Shen spoke at a hearing of the Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid of the German federal parliament, the Bundestag, in Berlin on Wednesday, declaring that he was "not afraid of pressure from China".

Chen dismissed the visits by Shen and the Democratic Progressive Party authorities to foreign countries as "sneaky" and a "self-directed farce", saying such actions "only expose their inner panic as the sword of punishment for separatism hangs high above them".

"The more frenzied the 'Taiwan independence' separatists become on this dead-end path, the sooner they will perish," Chen said, adding that "what awaits them is the judgment of justice and a fate of disgrace".
