The Gubei Civic Center in Shanghai's Changning district was the hub for international talent and innovation on Saturday as it hosted the 6th International 3E (Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Enterprise) Fair. The event, centered on sci-tech innovation, community-building, and family support, explored comprehensive strategies to help professionals settle and thrive in Changning district and the wider Shanghai area.

Co-hosted by the Changning District Talent Work Leading Group Office, the Changning District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and Hongqiao Neighborhood, the fair brought together international talents, industry mentors, and experts to lead a series of training camps, workshops, and forums.

Since its inception in 2020, the annual 3E Fair has become a cornerstone of Shanghai's talent recruitment scene. To date, it has hosted more than 60 online and offline events, gathered nearly 300 multinational and local enterprises, and attracted over 5,500 participants for job applications.

While maintaining its core components—a career recruitment fair, Leaders for Leaders entrepreneurship workshops, and one-on-one consultations—this year's edition introduced several key initiatives aimed at building a more integrated and supportive talent ecosystem.

A significant launch was the Hongqiao CoLab, an international talent lab created in partnership with Carbon Silicon Tribe. This lab is designed to bridge the gap between academic research and industry application, enabling students from top universities like Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Tongji University to collaborate with companies on projects in artificial intelligence and frontier technologies.

To streamline corporate recruitment, the event also saw the formation of the Hongqiao Top HR Association, a new network comprising 28 leading enterprises. The association is designed to improve recruitment coordination and talent sharing among major employers in the area.

Recognizing that a successful move involves the whole family, the fair unveiled the Hongqiao Link project. This family empowerment initiative focuses on building social support networks for international families, fostering greater inclusion and community integration within Hongqiao.

The event also provided a platform for the latest updates on visa facilitation and one-stop service functions, presented by the Exit-Entry Administration Detachment of Changning Public Security Bureau and the Shanghai Hongqiao Overseas Talent Service Center.

"The '3E' has become a flagship talent brand for Hongqiao, driving profound synergy between talent and regional development and contributing to an open, diverse, and efficient business ecosystem in Changning," said Chen Feng, director of Hongqiao Sub-district Office.
