PLA warships engage in live combat drills
Several warships of the People's Liberation Army Navy have recently carried out live-fire combat exercises to test their joint operational capability and commanders' skills.
According to a news release from the South Sea Fleet on Monday, the exercises have been arranged by one of its training centers and a destroyer squadron, involving multiple vessels including CNS Weinan, a Type 052D guided missile destroyer, and CNS Yulin, a Type 054A guided missile frigate.
During the multi-day operation, the ships traveled across different waters and conducted various drills such as gun strikes against sea targets, personnel rescue and damage control.
The vessels also performed live-fire bombardment exercises on land-based targets, according to the release.
