RIO DE JANEIRO -- Brianna Rollins secured the women's 100m hurdles gold medal at the Rio Olympics as the United States claimed each of the top three places in Wednesday's final.

Rollins, who turns 25 on Thursday, gave herself the perfect birthday present by winning in 12.48 seconds at the Olympic Stadium.

Nia Ali took silver in 12.59 while Kristi Castlin grabbed bronze in 12.61.

Britain's Cindy Ofili was fourth in 12.63 and Germany's Cindy Roleder fifth in 12.74.
