Comment on "Six survive gas blast in Hunan mine" (China Daily, Oct 31)

The headline, "Six survive gas blast in Hunan mine", gave me the impression that the accident was not serious at all, although the first paragraph of the report said 29 miners had been killed in the gas blast.

I may not be a journalist, but I think a headline should convey the main information of a report. While reporting on disasters, natural or manmade, newspapers should tell readers more about ordinary people whose relatives have been killed and those that continue to suffer apart from focusing on rescue operations. This applies especially to accidents in mines operating illegally.

I wish China Daily to be perfect and popular.
