Nine Shanxi coal enterprises claimed places on the 2015 China Top 500 Enterprises list, jointly released by the China Enterprise Confederation and China Enterprises Directors Association in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on August 22.
Six of the nine, including Shanxi Coking Coal Group Co, Datong Coal Mine Group, Lu’an Group, Jincheng Anthracite Mining Group, and Yangquan Coal Industry (Group) Co, were among the top 100. The six coal giants were also listed in the 2015 Fortune Global 500.
With a sales of 2,889.93 billion yuan ($451.70 billion), China Petroleum and Chemical Corp took first place for the eleventh year in a row, while China National Petroleum Corporation and the State Grid occupied the second and third places on the list.
This top 500 list included five Internet companies, including Chinese e-commerce giants JD.com and Alibaba Group, IT giant Tencent Holdings, search engine developer Baidu Inc, and Inspur, a major total solution and service provider of cloud computing. However, none of the five made the top 120.
