Chinese shares close higher - Jan 10

BEIJING - Chinese shares closed slightly higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rising 0.37 percent, or 8.32 points, to end at 2,283.66.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.17 percent, or 15.18 points, to 9,170.06.
