Chinese equities closed mixed on Thursday.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 26.52 points, or 0.85 percent, to close at 3,155.05.

The Shenzhen Component Index dipped 29.51 points, or 0.23 percent, to close at 12,901.70.

Combined turnover shrank slightly to 253.96 billion yuan ($37.18 billion) from 280.7 billion yuan on the previous trading day.

The ChiNext market for start-up stocks, which began trading on October 30, rebounded with 26 stocks out of total 28 up following yesterday's rebounding. The board witnessed sharp losses on Tuesday and Monday.
