NASDAQ expects more IPOs at year's end

More IPOs will come to NASDAQ at the end of this year and the beginning of next year as the capital market gradually stabilizes, the president of NASDAQ OMX said on Tuesday.

"So far, 165 enterprises have submitted their application to us, among which quite a number of them are from Chinese mainland,” Magnus Bocker, president of NASDAQ OMX, told China Daily. "But they haven't decided when to launch their IPOs."

According to Bocker, most of those Chinese companies are from the technology, education and medical sectors.

Despite the sluggish global stock market, there were 22 new listings in NASDAQ from China's mainland last year, bringing the total number to 77.
