GE, Shinva set up healthcare joint venture

GE Healthcare will establish a 49-51 joint venture with China's Shinva Medical Instrument Co Ltd in Zibo, Shandong province, according to Shinva's filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Dec 23.

The project will focus on the development and manufacture of X-ray equipment, Shinva said. The new venture, Shinva GE Medical Systems Co Ltd, with a total investment of $25 million and registered capital of $10 million, is the fourth joint venture GE Healthcare has set up in China since its entry in 1979.
