Shares close 0.53% lower on previous day's rebounding

Chinese shares closed slightly lower on Tuesday following strong rebounding of the previous trading day.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was down 0.53 percent, or 15.3 points to end at 2,846.12 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 9,851.29 points, down 19.7 points, or 0.2 percent.

Combined turnover on the two bourses shrank slightly from 105.57 billion yuan ($15.48 billion) of the previous day to 98.36 billion yuan on Tuesday.
