Brembo said its Sensify intelligent braking platform has entered large-scale series production, in a move the Italian supplier described as a milestone for software-defined vehicles.

The system is being deployed as standard across all vehicles in a program for a leading global manufacturer, signaling readiness for full industrial rollout, the company said in a statement earlier this week.

Sensify is designed as a scalable, adaptable platform capable of supporting a range of advanced vehicle architectures—from next-generation driver assistance systems to fully autonomous applications.

The launch marks a step forward in the adoption of by-wire, software-defined braking systems for safety-critical functions.

"Sensify translates our vision of an intelligent, integrated braking platform into industrial reality," Chief Executive Daniele Schillaci said. "It supports safer mobility while paving the way for the next generation of software-defined vehicles."

Unlike traditional hydraulic systems, Sensify features a fluid-free architecture that distributes control at the wheel level.

By removing centralized actuation and hydraulic circuits, the system enables continuous and precise modulation of braking force, improving vehicle stability under complex driving conditions.

The rollout comes as automakers accelerate development of electromechanical braking technologies.

Brembo said Sensify differentiates itself through a combination of advanced hardware and adaptable software layers, allowing integration across vehicle platforms while supporting scalability and lifecycle upgrades.

The company has also signed additional contracts for Sensify, and expects to supply hundreds of thousands of units annually as adoption expands.
