China has emerged as a global frontrunner in renewable energy and electric vehicles, with earlier investments beginning to yield tangible results. The 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) continues to prioritize the development of these advanced industries, Jeremy Zook, lead analyst for China at Fitch Ratings, said. He added that China's fundamental strength lies in its dominant position in global manufacturing and supply chains.
