Aumovio deepens China-for-global strategy
German automotive supplier Aumovio announced two strategic partnerships on Saturday at the Beijing auto show, as it steps up efforts to support Chinese automakers' global expansion.
The company signed a global cooperation agreement with Leapmotor to support the automaker's overseas growth.
Under the deal, Aumovio will leverage its global engineering network, regulatory expertise and supply chain to provide system-level support, covering braking and safety systems, intelligent sensors, suspension and autonomous driving components.
Aumovio also signed a memorandum of understanding with Pateo to jointly develop high-performance computing platforms and explore applications of general artificial intelligence in vehicles.
The partnership will focus on cross-domain integration, combining cockpit and driving systems, as well as expanding into global markets.
"China continues to be a key driver of innovation," said CEO Philipp von Hirschheydt, adding the company will further localize its R&D and operations to support global customers.
Alongside the partnerships, Aumovio showcased several technologies developed with strong involvement from its China team.
These include a next-generation brake-by-wire system designed for L3 and above autonomous driving, a scalable zone control unit platform, and advanced in-vehicle camera solutions capable of operating in complex weather and lighting conditions.
The company also introduced cockpit-focused products such as an AI-enabled overhead display system tailored for Chinese consumers, highlighting its push into intelligent cabin experiences.
Aumovio said its collaboration ecosystem in China continues to expand.
Its joint venture neueHCT, established with Horizon Robotics, has secured multiple production programs for driver-assistance solutions, while its digital key partnership with INGEEK has won several new projects.
