Geely is expected to deliver smart driving capabilities comparable to Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) system by the end of this year, said a senior executive on Wednesday.

The Chinese company has been developing its Geely Afari Smart Driving system, or G-ASD, which is being deployed across models under the Geely, Lynk & Co and Zeekr brands.

"Based on current progress, the system is likely to reach the level of Tesla's FSD by year-end," said Gui Shengyue, executive director of Geely Automobile Holdings.

Geely said its G-ASD ranks among the leading systems in the industry. Robotaxi fleets based on the system, capable of Level 4 autonomous driving, are already operating in demonstration programs in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.

The system received European Union approval in March, allowing it to enter member-state markets and becoming the first Chinese-developed smart driving system cleared for overseas use.

Earlier this week, Geely announced a partnership with Nvidia to leverage its technologies to improve development, simulation, and validation efficiency.

Analysts said such collaborations may accelerate the deployment of more advanced autonomous driving functions.

Geely delivered 3.02 million vehicles last year, up 39 percent from 2024.

Revenue rose 25 percent to a record 345.2 billion yuan ($50.05 billion), while core net profit increased 36 percent to 14.4 billion yuan, demonstrating the company's growing market strength amid the broader transition to intelligent mobility.
