Shanghai is gearing up for an exciting year of exhibitions, with a strong focus on technological advancements.
Among the 90 major events planned is the inaugural International Embodied Intelligence Industry Expo (CIEI 2026), scheduled for July 2-4 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
CIEI 2026 will showcase the latest innovations in embodied intelligence, ranging from essential components to complete systems and applications. It aims to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and real-world applications, establishing itself as a leading international platform for the industry.
The global market for embodied intelligence is expected to surge, with products like humanoid and bionic robots becoming increasingly common. China has developed a robust ecosystem in this field, and technological and commercial advancements are accelerating worldwide.
The Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade is organizing the groundbreaking expo in response to these trends. Covering 30,000 square meters, the event is expected to attract over 500 companies from around the world. It will feature nine themed zones, focusing on areas such as perception and decision-making technologies, execution systems, and battery storage.
In addition to the exhibition, CIEI 2026 will include a main forum, a report release, seminars and matchmaking meetings, all designed to connect industry leaders and drive the transition from concepts to real industrial strength.
In addition to CIEI 2026, Shanghai will host several other tech-focused exhibitions this year. International events include the first Global Data Week in May, the 2026 Shanghai International New Energy Vehicles and Smart Mobility Expo in July, and the 2026 Appliance and Electronics World Expo from March 12-15, which will showcase the latest in smart technology and future lifestyle solutions.
