Four additional cities added to Spring Festival Gala
China Media group unveiled the 2026 Spring Festival Gala sub-venues on Sunday. The gala will feature four locations — Harbin, Heilongjiang province; Yiwu, Zhejiang province; Hefei, Anhui province; and Yibin, Sichuan province — each bringing its unique cultural flair to the grand celebration alongside the main Beijing venue.
Harbin, known for its winter beauty, will blend traditional charm with modern trends. Audiences will be captivated by the spectacular ice and snow displays for which the city is famous. The sub-venue will display cutting-edge technology and a vibrant fusion of local and international cultures, all set against the sparkling backdrop of this northern city.
Yiwu, a global trade hub, will highlight its status as a bridge between China and the world. The city's sub-venue will offer a festive celebration of global friendship and commerce, while showcasing Yiwu's growing international trade influence.
Hefei's sub-venue will reflect the city's rich cultural heritage, merging its traditional operatic roots with natural beauty. The city's cultural offerings will shine, with innovative performances celebrating its unique blend of ancient traditions and modern vibrancy.
Yibin will present a performance that intertwines the city's rich history, green technologies, and modern industrial advancements. With its focus on high-quality environmental sustainability, Yibin will showcase how it balances tradition with a forward-looking, eco-conscious future.
The sub-venues will each present distinctive performances, including dance, music, and opera, highlighting the diverse cultural flavors of their respective cities.
