Jinan paddler dominates World Youth Championships
Jinan table tennis player Yu Haiyang showed outstanding performance at the 2025 ITTF World Youth Championships, securing two gold medals, one silver, and one bronze.
The World Youth Championships, organized by the International Table Tennis Federation, is an annual event for junior players under 19 and under 15. This year's edition was held in Cluj Napoca, Romania, from Nov 23 to 30.
At just 15, Yu represented China, showcasing his exceptional skills and determination throughout the competition. He claimed gold in men's singles and men's doubles, and earned a silver in mixed doubles and a bronze in men's team event.
Yu demonstrated exceptional precision in men's singles, defeating his opponent to claim the title. Partnering with Zhou Guanhong in men's doubles, Yu dominated the competition with seamless transitions between attack and defense.
In mixed doubles, Yu and Zhu Qihui displayed remarkable resilience, battling their way through the quarterfinals and semifinals.
His achievements highlight both his individual skill and teamwork, solidifying his position as one of China's young table tennis stars.
