New service targets power supply woes
Chinese power operators have introduced innovative measures to make electricity more accessible to clients. In Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, staff members of State Grid Jiangsu have leveraged the Online State Grid app, developing a "Rental Electricity Assistant" to address common problems in rental electricity billing — such as cumbersome handovers, high error rates and frequent disputes. Landlords or tenants can log onto the app, input the household electricity account number and name, and within three minutes, accurately estimate the electricity cost for moving in or out. A real estate agent in Xuzhou said this feature largely reduces the workload of verification and speeds up the rental process.
