?Jinan springs surge to historic highs after continuous rainfall
After months of continuous rainfall, the spring clusters of Jinan have surged dramatically, with the renowned Baotu Spring reaching a historic underground water level of 30.29 meters on Oct 14 – the highest since 1966.
Between Sept 27 and Oct 14, Baotu Spring experienced a remarkable 17 consecutive days of rising water levels, climbing from 29.20 meters to 30.29 meters. Data show that since 2002, the spring has surpassed the 30-meter mark only in 2010, 2021, 2022, and now again in 2025 — making it a rare occurrence.
Meanwhile, Black Tiger Spring is closing in on a new milestone. Official data show that its underground water level reached 30.81 meters on Oct 14, nearing the historical peak recorded in 2004.
Other springs, including Yueya Spring (Crescent Spring), Meihua Spring, Ink Spring, and the Baimai Spring cluster, are also flowing at full strength, delighting locals and visitors alike with their spectacular scenery.
