Once dubbed as "flaming mountain" due to severe soil erosion that left the lands barren and the red earth exposed, Changting county in Fujian province has taken concerted ecological protection measures to transform the barren lands into a national wetland park.
Tingjiang National Wetland Park in Changting county, Longyan city, is now a lush green haven, with swans swimming in clear waters and birds singing in the thriving forests.
