Ancient coral fossils discovered in Hubei's Qinling Mountains

A research team from the Hubei Institute of Geosciences discovered abundant and typical Devonian coral fossils in the northwest of Yunxi county, Hubei province, in late March. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

According to Zhao Bi, director of the institute'spaleontological research center and member of the Hubei provincial paleontological fossil committee, over ten types of coral have been identified, dating back approximately 360 to 400 million years, with over ten different types of coral identified.
