American's video encourages returnees to cooperate on self-quarantine

Timothy Allen, a US citizen living in Qingdao, Shandong province, made a video while he was isolated at his apartment on Feb 27 calling on foreigners who have recently arrived or will arrive in China to cooperate with local authorities for self-quarantine.
"Locals here have taken great care of me and my family. They have been very responsible and generous to us, bringing vegetables, fruits and other daily necessities," said Allen, who works as a trade representative for a local mechanical company.
"The community staff has also helped to buy face masks for us."
Allen returned to the Hanhe community in the Shazikou neighborhood in Qingdao's eastern Laoshan district from Africa with his family on Feb 21 and stayed isolated in the apartment for 14 days, the standard protocol. He and his family are expected to complete self-isolation on Thursday.
"I have full trust in the local authorities. United, we will win the fight against the virus together soon," he said.
