WARSAW - Polish winger Dawid Kownacki won't play in the final tournament of the UEFA Euro 2020 as he is ruled out for three months after damaging crucial ligament in his knee.
Kownacki caught an injury during Fortuna Dusseldorf training and underwent surgery on Wednesday.
"We are very sorry as Dawid will need about three months to be back on the pitch. There is no chance he will ready to play earlier", said Kubacki.
In the UEFA Euro qualifications, Kownacki played two games.
Poland faces Sweden, Spain and a play-off winner in the Euro 2020 group phase.
