Capital Airlines jet hits another plane while parking
Parking lot accidents happen frequently in our daily lives, but have you ever heard about the plane that hit and scraped another parked plane at the airport? That really happened in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu province, early Wednesday morning.
At about 12:30 am, an Airbus A320 from Capital Airlines hit a China Eastern plane at Nanjing Lukou International Airport when it taxied into a parking space. The tip of its left wing ran into the front part of the China Eastern plane, which was parked in the neighboring parking space, near the second plane's windshield, according to Yangtze Evening News.
Workers from Capital Airlines said that the accident happened after all the passengers had gotten off the plane. Though both planes required repair, no one was hurt during the accident, the airport confirmed. It said that further investigation will be launched.
This was the third incident involving Capital Airlines in 10 days.
On Aug 26, one of the company's planes made an emergency landing due to a mechanical failure on a flight from Kunming, Southwest China's Yunnan province, to Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.
On Aug 28, another plane made an emergency landing in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province, with broken landing gear and engine, according to Yangtze Evening News.
