Mobike introduces new rules for share bike parking in Shanghai
Bike sharing giant Mobike has introduced parking controls for its service. Users who park the company's share bikes in forbidden areas in downtown Shanghai will receive a message on their phone reminding them to use the designated bike parking areas.
Users can check the map inside the Mobike app to make sure they are parking their bike in an appropriate place. Users who often park in forbidden areas will have their Mobike credit rating lowered, and may be banned from using the service from anywhere between one day and one month.
Mobike is also working on changing how their bikes work so that bikes can't be locked if they are improperly parked.
The move by the company is a part of a campaign to encourage the responsible use of share bikes and improve the sustainable development of the bike sharing industry.
