Xi: Implement summit consensus
Xi said China speaks highly of the results of the Singapore meeting between Kim and United States President Donald Trump, during which both sides agreed to work toward denuclearization and establish a lasting, stable and peaceful situation on the peninsula.
Kim's special trip to China reflects the great attention he paid to strategic communication between the two parties and the two countries, Xi said.
Kim's two-day visit to China started on Tuesday. It is his third trip to China since March, when he visited Beijing on his first foreign trip since taking office. In May, he traveled to Dalian, Liaoning province, and met with Xi a second time.
Xi said the three meetings with Kim in less than three months indicate the direction for developing relations between the two parties and two countries, opening a new chapter for the China-DPRK relationship.
Whatever the international and regional situation, the CPC and the Chinese government's firm commitment to consolidating and developing bilateral ties will not change, the Chinese people's friendly affection with the people of the DPRK will not change, and China's support for socialist DPRK will not change, he said.
Xi said he stands ready to work with Kim to continue to implement the important consensus reached between the two sides, and push forward the long-term, sound and stable development of the China-DPRK relationship, benefiting the people of both countries.
