French designer Paul Poiret was the first to design pants for women in Western world. In 1913, the designer created loose-fitting, wide-legged trousers for women, based on the costumes of the popular opera Sheherazade.
In the recent two years, wide-legged trousers have become a trend on the streets and screens.
Designers have also experimented with more materials, such as lace and cashmere, to give the pants different looks.
